This was today (which actually looks better, because this morning it was almost swollen shut).

Here is our amazing and very smart little 6 year old. She is everything I have ever wanted in a little girl. I thank God for her every day.
Our Adoption Journey
2/20/10 ~ Attended adoption conference and made decision to adopt.
3/2010-4/2010 ~ Began investigating adoption...domestic vs. international, agency, country options, etc.
5/24/10 ~ Met with our caseworker at Lifelink in Peoria.
5/?/10 ~ Decided on Philippines and began application process.
7/7/10 ~ Mailed application to Lifelink!
7/29/10 ~ Received a TON of paperwork to fill out and were fingerprinted for the State of Illinois.
9/16/10 ~ Turned in more paperwork to our caseworker and had our individual "interviews". Got certified copies of our marriage license and birth certificates.
9/28/10 ~ Had our home inspection and final interview with Punky too!
10/2/10 ~ Attended a required adoption seminar in Addison, IL...interesting and informative.
10/6/10 ~ Both of us had physicals (yuck!). Two shots and blood drawn...
10/29/10 ~ Received DCFS Foster Care License in the mail (adopt only status).
11/15/10 ~ Finally finished online coursework...paperwork for agency is done!!!! Now to compile the dossier...
12/16/10 ~ Home study approved by agency and is now in the hands of DCFS for approval.
1/22/11 ~ Dossier is complete and mailed to our caseworker!
2/08/11 ~ Dossier received by ICAB in Philippines!
3/16/11 ~ Application has been approved by ICAB in Philippines...we are officially waiting parents!
